Journalism Scholarships
Applications are available early each spring semester in the journalism office, GAB 102, and should be returned to the department secretary. These scholarships are awarded for the following fall semester and are open to all journalism majors.

The department is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) and is considered one of the best journalism programs in Texas. It is known for its emphasis on student mentoring and for its highly selective admissions policies.
Within the Department of Journalism, areas of study include news (print, magazine, web, broadcast and photojournalism), advertising and public relations.
