Academics: ADVISING
Information for spring 2010 registration
The advising office is working with the Registrar’s Office to eliminate the need for most of the course permission codes for JOUR courses for spring early registration. Students must be coded in EIS with the status they intend to hold in spring (pre-major vs. major) to be eligible to early register for any JOUR courses. Students enrolled in major level courses who do not have official degree plans or who have not submitted an application for major status must do so ASAP. Students enrolled in their final pre-major courses this semester should submit the application for major status immediately. Applications may be picked up in the advising office in GAB 107 or printed below in the ‘Forms’ section. Advisors will collect applications for those finishing the pre-major, update their statuses in EIS, but will not process any official degree audits until the students have successfully completed the pre-major. If a student submits an application, registers early for major level classes, and does not successfully complete the pre-major in fall, the student will be dropped from all major-level JOUR courses.Erin Day - eday@unt.edu
