Bess Whitehead Scott Journalism Scholarship
- The $1,500 award is granted annually to a junior or senior university student pursuing a degree in journalism or a related field.

Scott Scribes Scholarship for Older Adults - The $1,500 award is granted annually to a woman or man age 40 or over pursuing study or a degree in journalism, writing or a related field.

AAAS Minority Science Writers Internship
The Internship takes place each summer at the Washington, D.C., headquarters of AAAS's Science magazine, the largest interdisciplinary journal in the world. The 2010 summer program application deadline is March 1, 2010. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate academic program when they submit their application. The 2010 AAAS Minority Science Writers Internship application is now available online.

Buster Haas Minority Internship Program
The Texas Associated Press Managing Editors (APME) will place a student for a 10-week summer internship at a Texas newspaper of 30,000 or smaller circulation. The student will receive a $3,000 stipend, plus $1,000 for living expenses. Upon successful completion of the internship, the recipient will receive a $500 scholarship. Undergraduate and graduate students qualify. The Texas APME each year offers internships and scholarships to deserving students through our program. The internship is named after the late Buster Haas, a Dallas Morning News assistant managing editor for 32 years, and aims to increase the number of minority journalists working in newsrooms across Texas. Ethnographic Media looking for media correspondents for historic film premiere
Five undergraduate/graduate students will be selected to cover the film Little Town of Bethlehem in Bethlehem, and throughout Israel and Palestine this December. Transportation plus room and board are included. Application.

      Ethnically diverse, UNT has a vibrant international student population and a diverse student enrollment.
     
      The 60-year-old journalism program, which is accredited by ACEJMC, is home to about 1,000 undergraduate and about 80 graduate students. Our alums have won eight Pulitzer Prizes. Facilities include four digital labs and a new convergence lab.
