Journalism Scholarships
Applications are available early each spring semester in the journalism office, GAB 102, and should be returned to the department secretary. These scholarships are awarded for the following fall semester and are open to all journalism majors.

Welcome to the Department of Journalism and the Mayborn Graduate Institute!
The department is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) and is considered one of the best journalism programs in Texas. It is known for its emphasis on student mentoring and for its highly selective admissions policies.
Within the department the areas of study include Advertising, News Editorial, Public Relations and Photojournalism.
Broadcast Journalism has recently been transformed into a new Electronic News major that is shared with the Department of Radio, Television, and Film.
